Marcia will demonstrate her dip dyeing method to apply several colours on a supplied pillowcase that has been prewashed and damp. She will show you how to tie bands to create the pattern you would like. The heating and drying process will be accelerated with the use of a microwave to set in the colours.
Each participant will be given a pillowcase to tie and dye and to take home. Also includes contact details for purchasing your own dyes from Earth Palette.
About Marcia:
Marcia grew up with her mum sewing on the kitchen table making her own patterns and garments made to measure. She attended an Art Group in Burra as an adult where a woman from Earth Palette taught a class on tie dyeing which sparked Marcia’s interest. She has now been sewing and making clothing for over 25 years. Marcia uses recycled clothing as well as some new fabrics for her designs. She presents her clothing, ‘Marcia’s Groovy Designs’, at Festivals and events. Marcia also has a selection of clothing to view and purchase in her home.
