Winter Solstice Deep Journey & Fire Ceremony

Join us for a full day of connection in Nature for Winter Solstice with deep intention setting, grounding meditations & more!

This is to bring an inner balance as we honour the transition into Winter.

As Autumn draws us inward, we begin preparing for the descent into winter hibernation—a time to calm the nervous system, restore the body, and reconnect with our inner stillness. This immersive day is designed to support you in grounding your energy, finding balance, and navigating these “interesting times” with greater calm and clarity.

Hosted by Joan Carpenter at The Farm for Wellbeing, Elder of Women and Shamanic Craftswoman, she will bring Shamanic practices to welcome all, the Four Directions, Elements and more.

Guided by Matthew Greenwood, who brings many years of experience with Spiritual Healing and Shamanic Energy work including Lakota traditions, you will learn to create your own Prayer Ties—infusing them with your personal intentions for the inward journey of winter.

By aligning with the natural cycles of the seasons, we open ourselves to a rhythm of birth, growth, and release, allowing what no longer serves us to gently fall away.

During the day, we will:

  • Experience meditation and tuning inward.
  • Walk the Labyrinth to bring forward deeper intentions and prayers.
  • Learn grounding practices to balance our energy systems.
  • Create personal Prayer Ties for the winter journey to be released later into the fire.
  • Come together in CommUnity with music, food and fire

We will be supported by the beautiful live music of Georgia Astridge.

As night falls, after a nourishing vegetarian dinner, we gather around the bonfire for a powerful Lakota Passing of the Pipe Ceremony. With drumming and ritual, we will release our Prayer Ties into the flames for full expression. BYO drum or borrow one of the farms. No prior experience necessary.

Fire Twirlers will join us for a wonderful display of fire to close the night in celebration.
