Hello Friends of the Farm
Greetings from a very green and luscious land! The trees are full of apples, the grass is vibrantly growing and the veggies are happy and thriving well! Feels like abundance!
As we go into Winter we notice the changes to the routine. Is the wood box full in the morning? Is the morning wood cut? The curtains are shut at dusk and open in morning to contain the heat. Soups or curries are a meal time favourite.
I get up a little later…closer to 7:00am than 6:30am. Not much difference yet it feels like my body needs that little bit of extra time even if I go to bed earlier. That morning cup of tea seems to feel even more nourishing and replenishing..
Urs, being the former dairy farmer for 15 years, still gets up at 6:00am! Quietly luckily! LOL
I love all of this as it feels in line with Nature and her Cycles.
Thank you for all the support you give us even if it is just receiving these newsletters – perhaps you haven’t made it here yet or it has been a while.
As we go into our 6th year (our moving in Anniversary is 27 June 2018) we do feel our community. We have been so blessed in so many ways by many of you, be it donations of items, your help, your time, your energy, your well-wishing, sharing our events and more. We truly appreciate it all.
We have so many apples here! Do you like crumble? Have you ever added rhubarb or plums or quinces to your crumble? It makes for a delightful and delicious dish to warm you up!! There are spray-free apples of different varieties for sale here at modest prices from $2.50/kg – $4.00/kg. You can pickup and pay at the fridge as you enter Willis Road! Or contact us to come and get a bag of 1, 2 or 4 kgs!
Winter Updates:
Over Winter I like to have more spaciousness so I “hibernate” from holding Women’s Circles in July and plan to do more self care/self nurturing like baths, walks, my exercises that support and strengthen my body…that kind of thing.. all to reset and recharge. This is because, if we follow the natural rhythms of nature, we see how plants and some animals become dormant in Winter. This is more noticeable in the Northern Hemisphere, which is where Urs & I spent the first half of our lives…so I guess its in our bones! Slowing down, resting more, having hot baths, being nourished by warming winter recipes, drinking healthy cuppas, allowing time for introspection are some ways to recharge oneself. For me, exploring and offering Wise Woman Within You over the last 6 years has shown me how beneficial it is to follow such flows and rhythms.
What is your intention of Winter? Make a note in your diary/calendar to allow some hibernation spaciousness.
We will have some events during this time – see later on in this newsletter and check our website or Social Media for updates and bookings.
For Winter Solstice this year we will be celebrating a little differently from past years. Normally we do a long afternoon and into the evening weekend event so this year I feel to honour the Cycle of Nature in Mid-Winter at Solstice on Wednesday 21 June as a lead into the actual Solstice of 22 June at 12:27am local time. As you probably know it is the longest night and shortest day, and we will be acknowledging our Inner Light which leads our way in this journey called Life deeply into ourselves during Winter Hibernation. I hope you can join us.
A gentle reminder for your Wellness Journey:

To close I wish to say that Urs and I consider ourselves co-custodians of this land and look after her as best as we can. In doing so we do also acknowledge the traditional custodians, the Peramangk People, their Elders – male and female, past, present and emerging and their customs and culture which goes back 1000’s of years.
May we all practice living in harmony with the Land, each other and ourselves in non-judgmental, kind and respectful ways.
Thank you for taking the time to read this! We appreciate your interest!
