Greetings from the farm!
And belated Winter Solstice Blessings to you and your families as it was Sunday the 21st June. We had an all-day event here to celebrate Solstice, the shortest day. The time to check in with our energy levels and our “inner light”.
How has Winter been for you?

Are you following Nature and having a pause? Perhaps not a full hibernation, yet some quiet, restful time? I highly recommend this practice in June/July to help restore your energy centre and reset your body and mind. How would it feel to be in “Spring” energy 365 days a year? Full on, hey?!?! This is when burnout can happen if we keep that kind of schedule going year around…consider it.
As we finish our 8th year (our moving-in Anniversary is 27 June 2018), we do feel blessed with our farm community. So many new people have come this year, especially with the Fringe events which brought over 200 people over that month. We hope to see many more with the big Forest Festival we now hold on the October long weekend! See the link below.
A huge heartfelt thank you to the wonderful performers, practitioners and facilitators who brought their fantastic selves, performances, sessions, music, yoga, and all the events here. It has truly been a full and satisfying year of many experiences!! Feeling so blessed! Onwards we roll for more of the above once Spring comes! Woohoo!
For now, though, will you take a pause for Winter as Nature does…rest, reset, restore…as I said in the intro. Even if it is just sleeping a little bit longer or going to bed earlier, having baths, reading that book you haven’t had time for. It will nourish you for the next Seasonal Year from Spring onwards to Autumn and Winter again in 2027. Some of us follow the Seasonal Year which means we are at the end of the current cycle at Solstice, with the next Seasonal Year beginning now still in Winter with Spring awhile off yet.
July is the Pause for me. I do not hold Circles, I do less, connect more with myself and allow rejuvenation with some of the above suggestions. As I am self-employed it is easier for me to set that up and I do this a bit better every year – it is a practice.
Try it in your own way – even if an hour here and there. It has been a progression for me to do this so be gentle with yourself.
Thank you subscribing to our newsletters, for coming as a participant to the events, supporting our networking by sharing our events and of course following us on the socials. We truly appreciate it all.
I wish to say, once again, that Urs and I consider ourselves co-custodians of this Land and look after Her as best as we can. Yet we acknowledge the true traditional custodians, the Peramangk People, their Elders – male and female, past, present and emerging and their customs and culture which goes back 1000’s of years. We honour their connection to the Earth and Her Cycles, the Cosmos and all that lives upon this Planet.
May we all practice living in harmony with the Land, each other and ourselves in non-judgmental, kind and respectful ways for the children of today and the children of tomorrow.
Thank you for taking the time to read this! We appreciate you and your interest! We look forward to connecting soon.
Sending you joy, peace and kindness,
Joan and Urs
